Position Location Director of Assay Development MI Salary Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Responsibilities Partial Job Description 1) Oversee the implementation and delivery of custom projects for biomarker discovery, assay development and testing 2) Direct the implementation of in-house product development programs in association with the Management Team 3) Introduce as appropriate, quality standards for the development of assays and testing of samples to meet the pre-clinical and clinical market expectations 4) Use connections and reputation in the market to help develop new business, particular in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors 5) Lead and manage the activities of a small, highly skilled Scientific Team 6) Work with the Sales and Marketing teams to help support customer relationships 7) Ensure an effective and efficient customer experience 8) Help identify and evaluate new product opportunities for the business Requirements Qualifications / Skills Required 1) Ph. D. 2) 10+ years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries (preferably strong in protein biochemistry) 3) Hands-on expertise in the development of protein-based assays to appropriate testing standards for pre-clinical and clinical settings 4) A solid record of developing successful relationships with opinion leaders and investigators in the various therapeutic areas 5) Understanding of the drug discovery and development process 6) Ability to rapidly assimilate complex and scientific information 7) Ability to cultivate spheres of influence 8) High level of enthusiasm and energy 9) Ability to demonstrate flexibility and integrity 10) Willingness and ability to travel to conferences and meetings with clients as necessary
