About our client
Our client, located on the West coast, develops compounds for macular degeneration.
Position Location
Project Leader WA
Salary

Responsibilities
1) Conduct team meetings and manage activities via agendas, minutes, project information, etc.
2) Keep Senior Management and Key Stakeholders informed of project status and escalate issues
3) Manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans proactively
4) Coordinate and develop yearly project goals and annual project budgets and ensure integration of these goals with corporate objectives
5) Identify critical path issues, resource management and project management from conception through development cycle
6) Work closely with all team members to apply project management processes such as definition, initiation, planning, execution and risk management
7) Assess project issues, areas of risk and develop mitigation plans to assist in decision making
8) Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
9) Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
10) Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders effectively in a timely and clear fashion
11) Work with the Finance Department, ensure all costs and expenses are appropriately tracked, allocated and forecasted
12) Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
13) Negotiate with other Department Managers where required for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
14) Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to Project Stakeholders and Partners/Collaborators
15) Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas
16) Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
17) Establish go/no-go criteria for all key decision points
18) Influence project team members and Contractors take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
19) Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
20) Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
21) Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report
22) Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
23) Assure activities and responsibilities are carried out efficiently and effectively
Requirements
1) BS/MS in Life Sciences or Business related field
2) Project management certification a plus Minimum
3) 7 years of direct and current work experience as a Project Leader in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment
4) Experience working in joint venture, partner/collaboration oriented alliances
5) Experience with CNS, enzyme inhibitor or ophthalmic environment
6) Proven ability with successful track record of leading multi-disciplinary project teams
7) Skilled in managing pharmaceutical drug development projects within preclinical, clinical and/or regulatory operations
8) Proven ability to build project leadership, program and teams
9) Total fluency with MS Office, Access, Project and Visio
