Position Location Product Development Manager FL Salary Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Responsibilities 1) Prepare product development quotations for all formulation, analytical method development/validation and process validation activities 2) Oversee product development activities to create formulations to comply with company, customer or other appropriate specifications 3) Coordinate the development of new formulations and the modification of existing formulations as required 4) Communicate with appropriate personnel to coordinate scheduling of new products and/or submissions 5) Communicate with customers to discuss progress of development projects 6) Maintain relations with Sales persons to collect information on availability and applicability of raw materials, both active and inactive to company’s products 7) Oversee qualification of new Vendors and order samples as needed 8) Establish initial contact with Suppliers to ensure that all appropriate documentation is available 9) Oversee, review and approve production of R&D scale-up batches and the corresponding accelerated stability results 10) Establish or revise finished product and stability specifications as required 11) Review, approve and issue development reports for new or reformulated products 12) Work with Operations personnel to coordinate/troubleshoot initial scale-up of formulations to either bio-batch or full size production batches 13) Participate in the decision-making process for selection of new or replacement processing equipment 14) Assist in FDA or customer audits as required 15) Assist the Director of Operations in equipment qualification, preparation of samples for special programs and in other functions as needed 16) Oversee specification of raw materials for and the formulation of Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements for capsules, tablets and powders 17) Troubleshoot problems in production in regards to formulation issues 18) Generate and approve planned and unplanned deviation for the manufacturing of product 19) Update and keep accurate formulas, packaging specifications and label claims for customer products 20) Ensure the proper manufacture and handling of trial batches as per customer request 21) Assist customer in request for information regarding scientific information and functionality issues of ingredients 22) Review and sing off on the customer product specifications 23) Assist purchasing in the specification and sourcing of raw materials 24) Generate and or adjust mixing instructions for customer products 25) Plan and implement budget for department 26) Serve on committees and focus groups as appointed 27) Assist the Director of Operations in other areas as needed Requirements 1) BS in one of the Sciences 2) Minimum 7 years of experience in product development 3) Experience in formulation of nutritional products in solid dosage (tablets, capsules, powder drinks, etc.)
