| Responsibilities |
1) Lead and manage all aspects of the Continuous Improvement, Technical training, Quality and Facilities departments, including people, processes and results 2) Develop and implement a 1 – 2 year business plan 3) Build unbreakable relationships with operational units that promote and foster operational excellence 4) Identify, lead and support national operational improvement initiatives that improve turnaround time, cost and quality leading to profitable business growth 5) Develop and provide leadership to S2 direct reports 6) Advise, coach, mentor and role model desired operational excellence behavior 7) Provide operational leadership, planning and implementation of 6 Sigma/Lean initiatives, compliance and quality programs, facilities and technical support 8) Ensure delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics related to turnaround time, cost, quality and people 9) Develop, measure and improve various laboratory operations and customer service metrics 10) Work with Organizational Development and Learning Department to build appropriate leadership development programs for Laboratory Operations and Customer Service departments 11) Implement root cause corrective action processes to identify, monitor and control factors affecting process quality performance 12) Implement quality programs and initiatives that will reduce/minimize process variation 13) Improve and standardize facilities standards and equipment across all laboratories 14) Promote and maintain a culture of employee health and safety |
| Requirements |
1) University degree in Engineering or Business coupled with an exhibited background of impact and leadership in continuous improvement, Six Sigma and/or Lean or MBA 2) Minimum 7 years of experience in laboratory production/project management 3) Green/Black Belt certification 4) In-depth knowledge of laboratory operations or experience within a regulated setting is strongly preferred 5) Strong knowledge of external factors that impact operations, customer service and quality 6) Knowledge of processes, key drivers and continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean 7) Project management disciplines along with ability to set realistic goals and objectives for varied groups at varied sites 8) Operational excellence coupled with the capability to build a 1 – 2 year business plan 9) Sound business acumen and ability to work with financial information at a basic level 10) Interactive style that easily works with all levels, creates engagement and initiates positive action and results |
