Position Location
Director of Reimbursement New York
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Develop and implement proactive strategies to ensure that optimal reimbursement is available for company products in the United States
2) Review and evaluate reimbursement status of company’s current products
3) Develop plans to obtain or improve reimbursement approvals for current products
4) Evaluate reimbursement requirements for new products and develop strategies
5) Ensure that appropriate data are gathered during product development to facilitate obtaining reimbursement efficiently and promptly upon product approval
6) Provide training to Marketing (including project management) and Sales regarding reimbursement of company
7) Develop, in conjunction with Product Management and Marketing Communications, informational materials for customers, sales representatives and others as appropriate
8) Provide advice regarding specific reimbursement issue to customers
9) Work with expert consultants to coordinate their activities to ensure that those are cost-effective
10) Serve as the company’s primary liaison with payers, including CMS
11) Prepare and submit reimbursement related submissions to payers, including CMS
12) Maintain an awareness of the reimbursement environment and serve as a key resource to management regarding reimbursement issues
Requirements
1) BS or an advanced degree
2) Minimum 5 – 10 years of related experience in managing the reimbursement function in a medical device company
3) Working experience in a variety of product/clinical areas
4) Experience in CMS, including “C” codes
5) Specialized training in reimbursement-related areas a plus
6) Excellent communication skills
7) Ability to prioritize and work effectively with multiple constituencies within the company
