Director of Assay Development Kansas
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Guide assay development efforts for new test programs
2) Direct research scientists to ensure program efficiency
3) Recruit and train new associates
4) Maintain high team visibility
5) Train scientists in experiment design, data management and analysis
6) Provide leadership and technical expertise
7) Ensure timelines and cost objectives are met and communicated
8) Lead assay verification/validation activities, write validation protocols reports and SOPs
9) Serve as team member on various ongoing and future new test idea generation projects on Immunoassays, molecular assays, cell-based assays and other types of diagnostic assays
10) Communicate program objectives to cross-functional teams
11) Implement quality systems and quality assurance within diagnostic development efforts
12) Commit for a high quality of work and at the same a high level of productivity
13) Plan, supervise, multitask and direct projects to completion
Requirements
1) Ph. D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or a related field
2) Minimum 10 years of closely relevant laboratory experience with background in either immunoassays or cell-based assays
3) Experience in substantial technical writing – protocols, study reports, regulatory communications and manuscripts
4) Experience in quality systems
5) Proficiency in biochemistry, molecular biology, assay development and verifiable expertise in immunoassay development or cell-based and flow cytometric assay development through patents, publication or description of completed industrial projects
6) Demonstrated proven experience, of an innate sense of urgency, in managing projects, ability to deal with ambiguity, appreciation of priorities and critical factors
7) Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills
8) Innovative and prepared mind to protect unique intellectual properties a bonus
9) Proven successful development approach to high throughput product development
10) Attention to detail and a commitment to and track record of high quality of work
11) Ability to establish and maintain working relationships
