| Responsibilities |
1) Manage packaging for the production of commercial finished goods and bulk oral solid dosage forms 2) Ensure product is packaged to all standards and specifications and meets the highest level of quality 3) Consult production schedules and ensure that packaging areas and equipment are prepared for scheduled production 4) Manage work assignments for packaging through coordination and direction with supervisors on multiple shifts 5) Evaluate work in progress and make real-time decisions concerning actions to be taken in response to unexpected events 6) Coordinate with the heads of other departments on site to ensure production is proceeding as per company priorities and published schedules 7) Support strategic planning and capital acquisitions related to packaging 8) Ensure all actions in area of responsibility are conducted as per FDA and EMEA GMPs and regulations from other government agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DEA, etc. 9) Support all inspections conducted by government agencies and internal auditors 10) Ensure a training and development plan for all supervisors and operators is established and kept current 11) Train subordinates on cGMP 12) Identify and implement productivity improvements within the production area 13) Ensure targets are identified through annual goal-setting process 14) Assist Quality Assurance and Control in conducting investigations into Production anomalies and laboratory results that do not meet expected standards 15) Support development and execution of validation protocols for equipment, processes, products and affected facility or utility areas 16) Write SOP and other work instructions that may be required to operate inthe production area 17) Make real-time decisions on the suitability for use of components used in packaging operations 18) Perform other duties as assigned |
| Requirements |
1) Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline 2) Minimum 3 years of experience in the production of oral solid dosage forms with supervisory experience 3) 10 years of supervisory experience in the production of pharmaceutical products may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree 4) Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered 5) Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time and walk throughout the Production areas on a regular basis 6) Medically qualified to wear personal protective equipment when required 7) Ability to direct activities through supervision of exempt and non-exempt employees |
