About our client
Our client is a venture capital backed developer of biologic products for the treatment of obesity-associated conditions such as hyperlipidemia, hypertension and diabetes. With world-class financing and a strong management team, this is a unique opportunity for a proven marketeer to join an entrepreneurial organization that is on the verge of entering the market with a highly innovative product.
Position Location
Vice President of Sales and Marketing Montreal, QC (though will strongly consider flexible telecommuting options for qualified executives that are not local)
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
The Vice-President Sales and Marketing will have full and sole responsibility for the spectrum of commercial development, partnering, collaboration and licensing arrangements; shall play key role in strategy elaboration; shall establish and pursue top-level contacts with potential partners within food, nutrition, pharma markets; shall lead deal structuring and negotiations tasks, as well as carry out other senior level ad hoc missions, as might be mandated by the Board. Immediately, the Vice-President Sales and Marketing will play an important part implementing the launch of a key company product. The Vice-President Sales and Marketing will report directly to the CEO of the company.

Major responsibilities:
1. Formulate company’s business strategy and goals
2. Follow up on existing business development leads; identify and develop new opportunities
3. Structure, negotiate and implement collaboration, partnership, licensing or other agreements with third parties
4. Serve as liaison officer for such collaboration projects; channel effective flow of scientific, marketing, financial and other info between the company and collaboration partner. Monitor and maintain the progress of the collaboration
5. Proactively present and implement changes, improvements into business development activities of the company; its strategic and marketing plans
6. Establish market awareness of the company and its products in North America and Europe
7. As part of the Management of the company, participate in key strategic decisions elaboration and implementation
Requirements
1. 10 years plus experience in senior management positions (product launches, business development, brand managing, sales and marketing) with companies working in either ones of these sectors: food, nutraceuticals or biotech or pharma (medical food)
2. Experience in establishment and successful development of high-level commercial contacts within large corporations
3. Ability to independently manage complex projects; efficiently coordinate and interact with advisors, agencies, consultants, legal counsels, senior management of large corporate partners 4. Superior negotiation and deal making skills
5. Excellent presentation and communication skills
6. Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work in small-company environment
7. Proactive approach to management
8. Willingness to travel
