Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Work with investigators and department administrators in the development and submission of grant and contract applications
2) Review administrative sections of grant and contract applications for completeness, accuracy and compliance with organization and sponsor policies and procedures (e.g., signature approvals, human and/or animal regulations, budget restrictions, and subcontract guidelines)
3) Understand the Grants.gov regulations and processes
4) Train investigators and department grant administrators on the grants.gov process
5) Review grant application budgets with a primary focus toward testing that appropriate fringe benefit, indirect cost, and shared service rates are used
6) Prepare and negotiate subcontract agreements for those awards that contain projects outside the organization assuring that agreements include all necessary provisions to allow for compliance with organization and sponsor policies and procedures
7) Review official correspondence from organization investigators to sponsors recommending alternate wording when necessary
8) Provide advice and guidance to departments regarding time and effort reporting conflicts providing resolution to these conflict that assure compliance with both organization and sponsor requirements
9) Work with department grant administrators, investigators and finance in the resolution of budgetary problems, making sure that any resolutions assure continued compliance with sponsor and organization guidelines
10) Participate in both the development and implementation of training and education programs that promote a clearer understanding of the grants management process at the organization
11) Work with the office in the development and improvement of the Research Administration and organization databases and systems
12) Must maintain knowledge base on changing regulations and technologies used in Federal and Non-Federal grant applications
13) Participate in Federal Demonstration Partnership projects, as needed
14) Work on other projects and duties as assigned
Requirements
1) Minimum of 1 year of experience in a central office or a minimum of 3 years of experience with grants.
2) Bachelors degree
3) Directly related grants management/research administration experience is strongly preferred
