Responsibilities
1) Overall Responsibility for Process Development including: Ongoing Liaison with Research & Development; Responsible for Accurate, Timely Technology Transfer from R&D; Preparation of Standard Operation Procedures and Work Instructions; Scale Up Processes from Proof-of Concept to Full-Scale Manufacturing.
2) Overall Responsibility for Production including: Purchasing; Scheduling of Complex Processes; Warehousing, Shipping, and Receiving Human Resource Management; Continuous Product, Process and Quality improvements.
3) Overall Responsibility for Quality including: Quality Control and Quality Assurance Programs; Working with Regulatory Affairs to Achieve and Maintaining Required or Desired Certifications; Safety Regulations, Environmental Standards, etc.; Quality Assurance Controls for Production; Acceptance Criteria for Raw Materials, Work in Process, and Finished Goods; Personnel Development and Training; Cleanliness of the Production Environment; Failure; Investigations and Corrective Actions.
4) Overall Responsibility for Warehousing, Shipping & Receiving: Maintaining Inventory Control, Order Fulfillment; Customer Service Support; Sales Support.
5) In addition, in cooperation with Company personnel at all levels, the Production Manager is responsible for strategic short-term and long-term planning, including but not limited to: Being Nimble, Flexible, Creative, and Adaptable in All Assigned Duties; Establishing Strategic and Annual Business Plans.
6) Implementing Strategies and Internal Processes to Ensure Continuous Quality Improvement; Achievement of Corporate Goals and Objectives; Ensuring Resource Efficiency in All Operations; Meeting Company Profit Objectives; Financial Planning and Budgeting; Development of New Partner/Customer Relationships.
7) Support of Relationships with Existing Customers; Implementation/Enforcement of Company Policies and Procedures; Working Closely with Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, Marketing, and HR Teams; Determining Equipment Needs.
Requirements
1) A 4-year degree in engineering or industrial management from an accredited university.
2) 10+ years of experience in manufacturing management.
3) A strong understanding of production as well as planning and execution of quality control; quality assurance; certifications; safety; environmental controls; human resources management, training and development; purchasing; financial planning and controls; and sales and customer support.
4) Experience with lean manufacturing / factory methods.
5) Thorough knowledge of automated equipment.
6) Strong project management skills.
7) A solid understanding of GMP, GLP, and ISO requirements.
8) Experience with maintaining and working in a clean room environment.
9) Able to manage project from development through pilot-plant production.
10) Experience with appropriately identifying and protecting company intellectual property.
11) Strong teamwork skills and ability to operate comfortably in a start up environment.
12) Must be a self starter and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
