Position Location
Associate Director/Director of Outcomes Research Raleigh, NC
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Initiating and overseeing collaborative research projects in the areas of cardiovascular and metabolic disease with academic and corporate investigators
2) Interface with collaborators to facilitate timely data analysis, manuscript preparation, and manuscript submission
3) Assist collaborators in data analysis and data modeling to facilitate identification and validation of lipoprotein associations with defined clinical endpoints such as subclinical and clinical cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance, and incident type 2 diabetes
4) Coordinating the design, organization, and execution of clinical studies to document relations of disease outcomes with NMR-derived lipoprotein and non-lipoprotein information. (40%)
5) Develop research strategies to evaluate associations of defined clinical endpoints with lipoprotein particle and other NMR-derived information
6) Provide leadership in organizing and executing trials to evaluate associations of defined clinical endpoints with lipoprotein particle and other NMR-derived information
7) Working with other members of the Medical Affairs team, participating in efforts to educate key opinion leaders, heath care organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and managed care groups about the value and clinical utilization of the company's NMR LipoProfile test and other testing services
8) Make written and oral presentations to health care, pharmaceutical, and managed care organizations
9) Attend scientific and healthcare meetings for presentation and networking purposes
10) Provide data support to company managed care initiatives
Requirements
1) 5 years of experience in conducting and supervising clinical outcomes studies
2) A substantial publication record
3) MD and/or Ph.D. in epidemiology or related field
4) Thorough understanding of clinical protocol development
5) Thorough understanding of clinical studies and research project procedures
6) Knowledge of cardiovascular disease preferred
7) Knowledge of diabetes and related metabolic disorders preferred
8) Excellent oral and written communication skills
9) Excellent presentation skills
10) Strong project management skills
11) Strong interpersonal skills
12) Strong organizational skills
13) Deadline oriented
14) Ability to establish a positive rapport with internal and external parties
15) Ability to travel
