About our client
Our client is a global life science company that develops and manufactures research and in vitro diagnostic products for immunology therapies. Their flagship product was commercialized in 2002. It allows clinical researchers to simply measure immune cell function. Our client boasts a management team with extensive experience in developing, manufacturing, marketing and distributing medical diagnostic products. Position Location
Business Development Manager (Home-Based) Dallas/Houston, Texas
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals for the customers within an assigned geographical territory
2) Determine revenue opportunities at each center within assigned territory and develop and execute a strategic account plan for each
3) Prioritize utilization of resources and company personnel to maximize growth and profitability of assigned territory
4) Develop and implement account plans to generate or increase the utilization of company products including identification of account opportunities to increase product sales
5) Establish a priority call cycle, identify key account personnel and establish strong relationships
6) Update and enhance account plans on a routine basis
7) Develop and maintain strong written and verbal communication skills including effective core messaging and delivery of formal presentations
8) Maintain complete, accurate and concise records of sales activities and provide updates to Sales Management on key issues, marketing opportunities and knowledge of market intelligence
9) Understand the transplant process and subsequent care of the patient, how to best position company products throughout the process and how to best utilize company resources to meet or exceed customer expectations
10) Play an active role within the transplant industry on a local, regional and (if requested) national level in conjunction with other company departments to include Customer Care, Medical Affairs and Marketing
11) Work to improve industry and company product knowledge through self-initiated development activities
12) Attend local meetings and seminars and other regional, national programs or trade shows as determined by management
Requirements
1) Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business
2) 5 years of medical device, diagnostic or biotech sales experience in a clinical, hospital environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3) Working knowledge of transplantation, infectious disease, general immunology, diagnostics and laboratory functions preferred
4) Demonstrated record of successful sales experience
5) Ability to develop and demonstrate proficiency
6) Working knowledge of MS Office suite
7) Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
8) Proven ability to maintain strong professional relationships
9) Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
10) Willingness to travel regionally to meet goals and objectives (up to 80%)
