Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Assist the Microbiology Manager and Supervisor to ensure quality indicators are in place within the department
2) Ensure that the Microbiology Department is inspection-ready at all times
3) Manage all required documentation and ensure regulatory processes are in place
4) Assist with employee and documentation competency
5) Demonstrate leadership through accountability and collaboration in daily activities
6) Show a consistent high level of initiative and problem-solving ability
7) Demonstrate an effective two-way communication to create an informed, professional and positive environment at all times
8) Coordinate efforts to effectively liaise with others in a way that is productive and promotes teamwork and change
9) Ensure continuous quality improvement by collaborating with management to implement standardization/process improvement within the department
10) Make sure employees comply with all applicable regulatory agencies as well as department/company QA/QC-related policies through documentation, audits and corrective action
11) Perform department QC-related activities
12) Facilitate internal/external audits
13) Ensure, in coordination with Management, that department standard operating procedures/database are regularly updated to accurately reflect current processes
14) Coordinate internal and external proficiency testing activities
15) Oversee, in coordination with management, departmental training and competency programs
16) Perform special projects as assigned
17) Support the company training program
Requirements
1) BS in Medical Technology or other Life/Physical Sciences from an accredited college or university
2) Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or ASCP license
3) 4 – 5 years of experience in a comparable quality assurance setting and progressive laboratory experience
4) IT skills in Windows-based software (Word, Excel, etc.), statistical analysis and laboratory information system a plus
5) Good typing skills
