About our client
Our client is a rapidly growing medical device company headquartered in Northern California that is focused on the development and commercialization of instruments and equipment for light and laser therapies. The organization has an experienced management team, a well-established product line and a growing revenue stream. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to put their drive and initiative to work.
Position Location
Clinical Development Engineer Northern California
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Liaise with design engineers and outside physicians to define product requirements
2) Develop medical devices/procedures and create teaching tools
3) Evaluate and/or develop technologies to characterize properties of skin and its components
4) Oversee the preparation of clinical sections of FDA pre-market notification submissions (as needed)
5) Liaise with physicians to design clinical studies as per regulatory requirements
6) Oversee the completion of clinical studies to assess clinical results
Requirements
1) Ph. D/MS/BS in Physics or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related area preferred
2) 5+ years of related clinical development experience in designing and/or application of medical instruments
3) Previous experience in medical laser development/applications
4) Ability to learn and apply knowledge of skin optics, photo-thermal and photo-chemical interactions in the skin as well as heat transfer in tissue to assess product requirements and clinical outcomes
