About our client

Operations Manager – Non-Clinical Madison, Wisconsin
Salary

Responsibilities
1) Direct and coordinate the activities of the manufacturing and shipping of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies for the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, life science research and the biotech research communities
2) Ensure that proper manufacturing procedures and practices are followed/maintained to exceed customer's expectations
3) Oversee all facets of antibody production
4) Develop an operating budget and manage the P&L to meet the approved budget
5) Direct in-vivo production to ensure that procedures are followed, products meet all specifications and productions are scheduled and completed in a timely manner
6) Interact regularly with the supervisors of these production areas to monitor production scheduling, staffing levels, staff performance, training, and adherence to standard procedures and staff morale
7) Work with the supervisors of these production areas to ensure that production reports are completed accurately and on time
8) Work with the Supervisor of Tissue Culture Production to ensure that hybridoma development is documented, performed and invoiced in a timely manner
9) Plan and execute the immunization stage of hybridoma development
10) Direct rabbit and rodent polyclonal antibody production and rabbit reticulocyte lysate production to ensure that procedures are followed, products meet all customer specifications and that productions are started in a timely manner
11) Initiate all documentation for productions and transfer to the Supervisor
12) Ensure that antigens are dispensed and transferred to the production barrier in a timely manner
13) Work with the Supervisor of the production area to ensure that production reports are completed accurately and on time
14) Direct and execute the timely shipment of all products to the customer
15) Interact regularly with the supervisor of this production area to monitor scheduling, staffing levels, staff performance, training, adherence to standard operating procedures and staff moral
16) Direct protein purification production to ensure that procedures are followed, products meet all customer specifications and that production is started and completed in a timely manner
17) Work with the Supervisor of this area to ensure production reports are completed accurately and on time
18) Monitor shipments of final products to customers
19) Plan and direct all aspects customer service, shipping and receiving and data entry/reports
20) Review company orders with the Customer Service Department
21) Determine that necessary information and order specifications are met
22) Plan and execute the preparation of all computer generated reports
23) Direct and execute the maintenance of the product inventory on the AS400 as well as all computer generated reports to assure accurate and timely completion
24) Monitor shipping and receiving to ensure proper boxing and labeling procedures are carried out
25) Direct training of departmental personnel and monitor progress and documentation
26) Monitor shipping and receiving paperwork for accuracy and completeness
27) Perform personnel related duties such as interviewing, hiring and job performance evaluations
28) Review written procedures, work instructions, training materials, forms and miscellaneous documents
29) Perform other duties as assigned including leading customer audits, team meetings and the improvement process within the organization
Requirements
1) BA or advanced collegiate degree in a related field
2) 10 + years of progressive experience in a similar laboratory setting
3) Strong science background with experience in all aspects of production involving the use of lab animals and antibody production a plus
4) GMP/GLP experience
5) Excellent oral and written communication skills
6) Excellent organizational and planning skills, with ability to work under pressure, monitoring a fast-paced and diverse environment
7) Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate employees and work well with others
8) Ability to take initiatives as well as expertise and experience in monitoring all managed production areas
9) Ability to delegate assignments and utilize personnel effectively
10) Dependability and adaptability to function effectively within established company parameters
11) Judgment to interpret accurately all company policies and procedures as they apply to daily routines
