Our client is a growing CRO headquartered in Massachusetts that specializes in providing pre-clinical laboratory services for leading medical device, biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Position Location
Veterinary Pathologist Massachusetts
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Serve as Study Pathologist for on-going toxicology studies conducted in compliance with FDA and other national and international regulatory agencies
2) Perform diagnostic pathology services involving laboratory animals
3) Write pathology reports as well as outsource and review overflow pathology services
4) Attend departmental and company meetings
5) Prepare, review and revise SOPs and protocols
6) Engage in research to develop techniques for diagnosing and identifying pathological conditions
7) Train department personnel in gross pathology and histology processing
8) Devise and direct use of special stains and methods
9) Serve as the focal point for the company's pathology-related services both internally and externally with sponsors and suppliers
Requirements
1) DVM or equivalent with ACVP Board certification
2) Recent completion of a residency program with passing at least two parts of the certification examination may be considered (agreement that they will pass the certification examination within two years)
3) Experience in assessing GLP-compliant pre-clinical studies, operation and management of a clinical pathology laboratory and diagnostic pathology involving laboratory animals
4) Excellent technical writing, communication and management skills
5) Demonstrated ability to train and supervise staff
