About our client
Our client is a rapidly growing specialty pharmaceuticals and contract manufacturing company headquartered in Ohio. Position Location
Senior IH and Safety Specialist Ohio
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Oversee exposure assessment program to protect employee health and the environment
2) Maintain database of exposure data for chemicals and physical hazards in the workplace
3) Work with IH and Safety Specialist and EHS staff to ensure that assessment campaigns are taking place as appropriate
4) Ensure safety assessment and validation of new and renovated facilities
5) Maintain hazard communications program by keeping a current chemical inventory as well as authoring material safety data sheets for final products and isolated chemical intermediates (as required)
6) Oversee company MSDS development
7) Provide leadership and interaction with site personnel to implement and manage a respiratory protection program that is protective and in compliance with regulatory requirements
8) Act as the Respiratory Program Administrator
9) Interact with employees to provide an effective personal protective equipment program that is protective and in compliance with regulatory requirements
10) Execute industrial hygiene surveys and assessments
11) Collect and analyze IH data
12) Complete sampling documentation
13) Implement and oversee the IH database in Medgate
14) Ensure strategies are in place to address containment of potent compounds as per corporate OCPs
15) Work with internal and external customers by facilitating direct support for acquiring toxicological information, exposure control limits, state-of-the-art exposure control technologies for all products
Requirements
1) BS in Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or Engineering or a physical science
2) CIH certification
3) 10 years of relevant experience in industrial hygiene with additional experience in environmental health and safety
4) Technical background with experience in industrial hygiene monitoring in a manufacturing facility
5) Understanding of regulatory compliance issues related to industrial hygiene, safety and environmental regulations
6) Superb project management skills
