| Responsibilities |
1) Assign, oversee and review the work of employees 2) Direct all phases of work in the department 3) Ensure customer service requirements are met 4) Develop and write protocols 5) Suggest and implement work flow/process improvements 6) Ensure quality assurance requirements are met 7) Oversee staff training 8) Implement safety programs 9) Assist in developing and monitoring the departmental budget 10) Ensure company policies and procedures are implemented 11) Oversee the Molecular Department |
| Requirements |
1) Degree in Clinical Lab Sciences or Molecular Biology 2) 6+ years of clinical laboratory experience 3) Minimum 3 – 5 years of supervisory/management experience 4) Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (CLIA, cGMP, GLP, GCP, etc.) 5) Ability to organize workflow and resources to effectively meet current testing turn-around deadlines and deploy new testing/projects within designated timeframes 6) Ability to disseminate ‘gold standards’ and emerging scientific methods knowledge to staff at all levels by organizing, writing and presenting scientific material that is user-friendly 7) Ability to coach, mentor and develop staff for new challenges 8) Ability to meet and anticipate customer requirements 9) Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and group situations 10) Excellent decision-making skills 11) Highly collaborative work style |
