Position Location
Associate Director, Process Development Analytical Hopkinton, Massachusetts
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Establish, maintain and direct an Analytical Biochemistry Group to provide analytical support for upstream as well as downstream process development
2) Oversee hiring of Technical Support staff to perform daily analytical procedures
3) Direct Technical Support staff’s efforts to ensure high quality work is being conducted in support of client projects
4) Provide early-stage involvement with new prospective clients to assist in identifying as well as transferring technical information required to provide analytical support for the project
5) Identify new or alternative procedures to expedite project timelines
6) Provide capabilities (not supplied by the client) through analytical developmental work, early in the project
7) Assist Sales and Marketing personnel in new client evaluation and provide technical support (as needed)
8) Develop and maintain a close working relationship between project management, clients and internal technical personnel throughout the developmental phase of a project
9) Maintain quality systems and cGMP compliance for the business by ensuring that all team members comply with processes, procedures and instructions (for all activities in which the team participates)
Requirements
1) Ph. D. in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biochemical Engineering or a related discipline
2) 7 – 10 years of experience in analytical project leadership and protein biochemistry research (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
3) Experience in leadership and management/supervision experience
