About our client
Our client is a global specialty pharma and medical device company located outside Chicago, IL. They focus on the design, development and manufacturing of solutions to improve the safety, delivery and effectiveness of patient healthcare.
Position Location
Associate Research Scientist Chicago, Illinois
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Support new product concept testing (molecular biology and biochemistry)
2) Plan experiments
3) Develop molecular and biochemical methods
4) Participate in planning and execution of the definition phase programs
5) Oversee (independently) complex and difficult molecular biology/bioanalytical characterization and method development with a high level of technical skill
6) Maintain an understanding of the theoretical and technical aspects of entire projects
7) Perform complex experimentation within area of expertise (independently)
8) Determine relevancy and accuracy of data
9) Review (thoroughly) patent and literature in support of diligence efforts for bio-generics
10) Act as a key player in obtaining or constructing appropriate cell lines
11) Represent R&D as a core team member on programs with strong biotechnical emphasis
12) Guide others in conducting project-specific laboratory activities
Requirements
1) Bachelor's and Master's degree or Ph. D.
2) Minimum 3 – 10 years of experience
3) Training in molecular, cell biology or related biological field and hands-on experience
4) Experience in successful regulatory submissions
5) Expertise in the development of moderately complex chemical and biochemical methods
6) Experience in development programs involving biotechnology-derived products
7) Expertise in molecular biology (gene cloning, expression, sequencing) and protein expression and characterization
