About our client
Our client is an acute care specialty pharma company based in San Diego. They specialize in a technology that provides sustained-release delivery of medications for post-surgical pain. Our client has two marketed products that are used by professionals in the healthcare industry. Position Location
Senior Research Associate (Quality Control) San Diego, California
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Execute assigned laboratory duties (sampling, testing and evaluating analytical data on samples like raw materials, in-process and final products)
2) Conduct laboratory tests in compliance with established standard test methods as well as within regulatory and laboratory requirements
3) Maintain organized records of tests performed and results obtained
4) Assist with the development as well as improvement of written procedures and protocols
5) Maintain technical knowledge and understanding in the assigned areas of responsibility consistent with the current scientific requirements of the company
6) Understand and comply with accepted laboratory as well as safety procedures, including GMPs
7) Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on major laboratory instruments
8) Provide technical assistance and training to other laboratory personnel
9) Work closely with other Operations (QA, Manufacturing, Materials and Microbiology), Process Development and Analytical Methods Development groups
Requirements
1) BS in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience
2) 5 years of relevant hands-on laboratory experience
3) Good knowledge of cGMPs and laboratory practices
4) Expertise in the operation and maintenance of basic laboratory instruments (at least 2 major instruments like HPLC and GC)
5) Excellent observation and problem-solving skills
6) Ability to follow analytical procedures and protocols
7) Ability to work in a methodical and organized fashion
8) Ability to multi-task
9) Proficient in computers
10) Ability to effectively utilize scientific information resources within the assigned area of responsibility
11) Ability to work effectively (independently and as a team member) toward the achievement of project and company goals
12) Highly self-motivated
