About our client
Our client is a global specialty pharma and medical device company located just outside of Chicago, IL. They focus on the design, development, and manufacturing of solutions to improve the safety, delivery and effectiveness of patient healthcare.
Position Location
Toxicologist Lake Forest, Illinois
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Provide technical leadership for the toxicology development of small molecules as well as complex biotechnology-derived and biological products
2) Lead cross-functional activities to ensure achievement of area goals
3) Improve the scientific capabilities of the department through the selection and training of staff
4) Lead R&D function within multiple projects and maintain regular communication with senior management
5) Identify, plan and coordinate R&D and cross-functional activities to ensure completion according to project plan and milestones
6) Maintain active involvement in external professional organizations
7) Ensure the integrity of documents to meet technical and compliance standards
8) Assess and implement new technologies
9) Lead the establishment intellectual property and scientific publications
Requirements
1) Ph. D./D. Sc.
2) Hands-on experience in leading senior technical staff in complex toxicology and related programs
3) Board certification in toxicology a plus
4) 6+ years of industrial and/or contract research laboratory experience
5) Experience in leading a team of scientists through all stages of toxicology development
6) In-depth technical knowledge to review scientific reports for regulatory submissions
7) Knowledge of regulatory requirements/guidelines
8) Superb interpersonal skills to lead scientific staff and cross-functional activities
9) Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
10) Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and maintain project schedules on multiple programs
