About our client
Our client is an expanding development stage biopharmaceutical company with cutting edge technology in the area of large molecule delivery systems. With an experienced management team and an established set of large pharma partners, this is a high visibility position that will expose the right candidate to some of the most intriguing programs in the Life Sciences sector.

Responsibilities
1) Establish and operate an enhanced life sciences capability within the company's research and development organization
2) Develop and execute physiological and disease models to support innovation and application of proprietary products
3) Manage preclinical drug delivery programs for a diverse range of pharmacological agents
4) Contribute (actively, intellectually, strategically and operationally) in an interdisciplinary setting
5) Lead the Scientific/Clinical Development Team
6) Design, manage and implement scientific research projects
7) Conduct in vivo pharmacokinetic studies in accordance with project goals
8) Participate fully in the development and registration process for human pharmaceuticals
9) Provide guidance to multi-disciplinary project teams and the management on selection of carrier-drug combinations
10) Provide advice for studies based on pharmacokinetic data and implement recommendations (scheduling experiments, overseeing the technical aspects of the projects, etc.)
11) Interact closely and coordinate activities with Internal Analytical Resources, Business Development, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Vivarium Operations, to ensure smooth study conduct
12) Coordinate all team activities leading to the on-time completion and reporting of studies
Requirements
1) DVM and Ph.D. in Veterinary Physiology or Pharmacology
2) Minimum 5 years of postdoctoral experience in the pharmaceutical industry or academia, including animal modeling
3) Scientific managerial experience preferred
4) Specialization in the physiology of oral drug delivery a plus
5) Experience in managing a team
