Toxicologist Illinois
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Review ingredient and finished product safety (globally)
2) Maintain knowledge of design and interpretation of toxicological studies and application to human health hazard evaluations as well as risk assessment
3) Keep abreast of current methodologies and new techniques (as are applicable to ingredients and product portfolio)
4) Monitor and implement strategy for product safety pre-clinical and clinical studies, new testing procedures, new products as well as new indications for existing products
5) Perform safety and risk assessments for ingredients as well as finished products
6) Remain current on toxicological issues that affect the company and changes or other developments affecting the regulatory environment (with respect to safety)
7) Ensure that the company-sponsored clinical studies are initiated, conducted and summarized in compliance with ICH GCP guidelines
8) Perform review and reporting of safety data, including adverse experiences to meet regulatory requirements
9) Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Product Development to ensure that testing is planned and completed in a timely fashion
10) Monitor collection
11) Ensure maintenance of a central file of all pre-clinical and clinical study documents conducive to inspection by regulatory auditors
Requirements
1) Master’s degree in Toxicology, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology or Genetics (Ph.D. preferred)
2) Board certification in Toxicology a plus
3) Minimum 3 years of clinical toxicology/product safety experience
4) Experience in the clinical aspects of product safety and interpretation of data
5) Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
6) Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
7) Ability to work with minimal supervision
