| Responsibilities |
1) Coordinate the corporate microbiology testing program for domestic, international and contract manufacturing operations 2) Develop, validate and implement global microbiological specifications, policies and procedures 3) Lead the revising methodology (as necessary) 4) Establish/maintain the preservative efficacy testing program for all developed formulas 5) Perform preservative challenge testing in a timely manner and report/discuss all results with Product Development 6) Provide test method development and testing for claims substantiation 7) Handle the global services for microorganism identification 8) Perform environmental and microbiology audits for all global manufacturing sites 9) Perform microbiology troubleshooting investigations of manufacturing and especially contract manufacturing sites (as necessary) 10) Review new/revised equipment and system installations for sanitary design, prior to installation 11) Develop a micro stability program with a rapid preservative efficacy screen test for initial R&D formulas and a multiple challenge of the preservative systems (completed in 30 – 37 days) 12) Ensure that the micro stability program meets regulatory requirements and that the preservative system is robust for all manufacturing sites 13) Purchase and maintain all necessary microbiology laboratory supplies 14) Review, develop and implement possible new rapid methods for microbial screening of production line samples, raw materials, etc. |
| Requirements |
1) BA/BS degree in Microbiology 2) 3 – 5 years of microbiology laboratory experience (manufacturing/R&D environment preferred) 3) 2+ years of supervisory experience a plus 4) Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment 5) Ability to work with minimal supervision 6) Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) |
