About our client
Our client operates a network of state-of-the-art facilities across North America. They have a proven record for flexible service and accurate results. Their Bioanalytical Department is operated with high-tech equipment with fully integrated software and automated sample handle processing.

Bioanalytical Team Leader Midwest, USA
Salary

Responsibilities
1) Supervise laboratory staff and manage team operations
2) Monitor study workflows and processes and maximize quality, accuracy and efficiency
3) Supervise research and development activities
4) Troubleshoot problems arising during research and development
5) Maintain current knowledge of advances along with scientific understanding of the work supervised
6) Supervise scientists and lab assistants
7) Coordinate R&D/validation operations for the team to ensure timely completion of validation in accordance with written protocols
8) Monitor study workflows and processes and maximize quality, accuracy, timeliness as well as efficiency
9) Assign team members to perform and complete projects
10) Develop SOPs, forms as well as processes to facilitate efficient and high-quality work
11) Supervise/conduct laboratory investigations and implement corrective and preventative action (as required)
12) Maintain a working knowledge of current GLP regulations
13) Assist with a QC role (as needed)
14) Ensure timely completion of projects (as needed)
15) Supervise research and development activities for the team and troubleshoot problems arising during research and development
16) Review scientific literature and maintain of knowledge of current practices and trends that are relevant to the laboratory
17) Use knowledge gained from literature and conferences to refine projects conduct procedures as well as to suggest and help develop research activities for the team
18) Design, develop, engage in and supervise projects
19) Work as an interface to study clients in scientific and conduct discussions
20) Stay informed of and advance the scientific understanding of the work supervised
21) Perform all duties as per company SOPs, government regulations and GLP
22) Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
1) Ph. D. with minimum 2 years of experience or MS/BS with minimum 5 – 6 years of LC-MS/MS (Micromass and/or Sciex) experience
2) Supervisory experience
3) Experience in developing methods in biological matrices using LC-MS/MS and robotic techniques preferred
4) Working knowledge of statistics and Watson LIMS
5) Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts (to prepare reagents and dilutions, standard curves and quality control samples, etc.)
6) Ability to accurately determine length and difficulty of tasks and projects
7) Ability to set objectives and goals for the team, break down work into the process steps, develop schedules and task/people assignments
8) Ability to identify, define and resolve problems in a timely manner as well as understand the potential impact of problems
9) Customer service orientation
10) Ability to deal with concepts and complexity comfortably
11) Keen attention to detail
12) Proficiency in computers (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
