About our client
Our client is a rapidly growing biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Massachusetts that is focused on the development of therapeutics for diabetes. The company has an experienced management team, many proof-of-concept tests and an empowering corporate culture that is focused on the long-term professional development of its employees. The firm is currently recruiting a Research Associate/Associate Scientist to join its Product Development team in Beverly, MA.
Position Location
Research Associate/Associate Scientist – Chemistry and Manufacturing Beverly, Massachusetts
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Perform synthesis of proteins and protein conjugates
2) Synthesize novel therapeutics for the treatment of diabetes
3) Develop and improve protein purification methods and protocols
4) Document and validate the preparation and characterization procedures
5) Assist in scale-up of therapeutic manufacturing processes
6) Perform quality/release testing of therapeutic agents for in vivo experiments
Requirements
1) Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Protein Engineering, Bioengineering or a related field
2) Minimum 3 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
3) 1 – 2 years of manufacturing experience, including synthesis, purification and production of proteins, polymers, vaccines or antibodies preferred
4) Experience in a research laboratory environment
5) Experience in chemical modification of proteins or polysaccharides and characterization of proteins via gel electrophoresis and ELISA
6) Demonstrated experience in keeping a detailed laboratory notebook
7) Strong background in standard techniques such as multi-well plate assays, UV-VIS, liquid chromatography (HPLC), ion-exchange, gelfiltration, centrifugation, ultrafiltration and membrane separations
8) Ability to manipulate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
9) Excellent organizational skills
10) US citizen or individual with permanent resident status
