Senior Project Manager I St. Paul, Minnesota
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Manage and provide guidance in project/program planning by implementing teams and developing project/program plans, including scope, schedule, budget and risk management
2) Perform and provide guidance in executing and controlling identified project activities, including scope, schedule, budget and risk associated with each project and report performance
3) Provide feedback and mentor Project/Program Team members
4) Establish communication plans for information distribution to team members and management
5) Provide guidance in managing project/program meetings
6) Communicate at a peer level with leadership
7) Guide the conducting of project/program reviews at significant milestones or gates to evaluate successes as compared to baseline estimates
8) Build (continuously) a comprehensive knowledge-base of the NDA drug development lifecycle and utilize knowledge base to build business processes that support new product development teams and commercialization
9) Integrate understanding of constraints across projects and recommend alternatives
10) Provide direction on function specific issues
11) Build strong peer relationships with leadership and business partners in an effort to most effectively progress new product development and strategic initiatives
12) Guide the management of due diligence activities in support of new business or product opportunities
13) Design and provide guidance in performing training in leadership, team skills, project management discipline and project management software
14) Supervise project managers (when required)
Requirements
1) Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field
2) 10 years of industrial pharmaceutical management/leadership experience with PMP/advanced degree or 4 – 9 years of pharmaceutical experience (technical development) with a Ph.D./Pharm. D.
3) Excellent leadership skills
4) Demonstrated computer skills (project management software, word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software preferred)
5) Ability to effectively interact cross-functionally
6) Superb reasoning and problem-solving skills
7) Excellent decision-making and cross-functional relationship-building skills
8) Ability to be tactful
9) Ability to frequently work with others and alone in a confined area
10) Excellent interpersonal and communication (written, oral and reading) skills
11) Willingness to travel frequently (ground and air travel)
