Position Location Histotechnologist Yonkers, New York Salary Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Responsibilities 1) Perform technical duties in preparing surgical biopsy specimens for microscopic examination 2) Prepare histological slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a Pathologist 3) Gross, process, embed, cut and stain surgical biopsies 4) Perform complex histological procedures 5) Analyze and correct problems using scientific principles 6) Perform accurate, reliable and high-level of work efficiently Requirements 1) Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in Histopathology in a clinical setting under the direction of a board-certified Pathologist 2) ASCP Histotechnician certification 3) Experience in working independently with challenging, small biopsy specimens in a specialized, diagnostic lab setting (a plus) 4) Experience in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence preferred 5) Proficiency in working with an automated tissue processor, H&E autostainer, coverslipper, microtome and embedding stations 6) Keen attention to detail 7) Excellent organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
