| Responsibilities |
1) Work in the Formulation/Analytical Department of the Research and Development Group 2) Support both in-house and outside collaborations in pre-formulation/formulation studies 3) Formulate samples as well as drug substances/products with state-of-the-art analytical techniques 4) Carry out in-house formulation and analytical studies as well as interact with the contract/collaboration labs 5) Characterize drug substance with HPLC, LC-MS, MALDI-MS and other methods as per product specifications 6) Formulate drug product as per the target product profile 7) Characterize drug substances and drug products for physical/chemical properties, degradation products and impurities 8) Analyze the in-house formulated samples to generate analytical results 9) Manage external projects
10) Participate in writing study reports 11) Perform challenging experiments exhibiting a good degree of scientific reasoning |
| Requirements |
1) BS/BA with 5 – 7 years of experience/MS with 2 – 5 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry in a Formulation/Analytical Department 2) Experience in formulation studies, particularly for peptides and proteins
3) Experience in analytical techniques such Karl-Fischer method, TGA and
osmometry 4) Excellent understanding of analytical method development,
qualification and transfer 5) Superb knowledge of HPLC, LC-MS and MALDI-MS 6) Excellent knowledge of GLP/GMP and familiarity with FDA/ICH guidelines relative to drug substance/product characterization
7) Willingness to learn fast, methodically and with enthusiasm 8) Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced, growing environment of a small biotechnology company 9) Ability to communicate effectively with the Supervisor 10) Ability to use Microsoft Office suite 11) Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills along with the ability to communicate effectively with a Supervisor |
