| Responsibilities |
1) Conduct early-stage scientific evaluation of project ideas and opportunities, and prepare written technical documents 2) Implement systems and processes to enable timely, efficient, and accurate reporting of evaluated pre-projects 3) Prepare project proposals for opportunities selected for presentation at the Portfolio Selection Meeting
4) Coordinate with Product Portfolio Analysis Group for representation of
project proposals to the Portfolio Selection Committee
5) Provide early-stage scientific evaluation of new project ideas according to
business unit objectives
6) Prepare technical reports on evaluated projects
7) Assist with development and implementation of an external review process for more in-depth opportunity analysis and feedback
8) Perform extensive literature and database searches 9) Work with patent/IP groups to provide initial patent landscape analysis along with providing input to the potential to file new IP around projects 10) Perform research surveys and obtain useable feedback on potential project concepts from outside sources |
| Requirements |
1) Pharmacologist/Pharmacist (or related discipline) with a postgraduate degree from a recognized university 2) Minimum 3 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry or higher research qualifications 3) Knowledge of drug repurposing, pharmacokinetics, drug delivery and basics of formulation 4) Self-directed individual with the ability to take the initiative and handle ambiguity 5) Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications 6) Excellent problem-solving abilities and flexibility to changing, and complex demands 7) Ability to manage multiple and complex problems/projects by exercising independent decision-making and analytical skills 8) Ability to challenge norms and think creatively 9) Ability to apply sound pharmaceutical science background to solve problems and evaluate new concepts 10) Ability to work independently 11) Excellent communication skills in English and French (written and spoken) |
