| Responsibilities |
1) Manage all internal projects, including all aspects of R&D, manufacturing, and system evaluation 2) Act as a resource to department directors in preparing and managing local project schedules 3) Handle (completely) the overall project schedule, including interdependencies and project risks 4) Oversee all top-level activities associated with the development of projects 5) Work with various departments to develop appropriate budgets along with validating and managing the overall program budget 6) Assist in planning and scheduling the overall project, and own the overall cost control as well as cross-functional coordination and execution of the program 7) Develop and manage a timetable of deliverables crucial to the success of the program 8) Ensure consistency among departments in task estimation and resource utilization by using standard estimation techniques and tools 9) Assist departmental directors in the preparation of project plans, schedules, and budgets by using Microsoft Project as well as by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to complete projects
10) Identify, understand, prioritize, and manage dependencies among various
functions and manage those dependencies to ensure on-time completion of project
milestones 11) Ensure project quality by using standard development methodologies and by working with SQA to develop and execute project quality plans 12) Identify key milestones for all departments, track project schedules, identify risks, and develop and execute contingency plans 13) Communicate program status by preparing standard status reports and by participating in R&D program status update meetings with the Vice President
14) Resolve project issues by working with department directors, project
customers, and others (as appropriate) 15) Consult with internal project groups by sharing project management knowledge and assist or mentor more junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques 16) Work within the company’s formal design control and quality management system 17) Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures related to program and project management |
| Requirements |
1) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s degree an asset) 2) Minimum 6 years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area in a regulated environment or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
3) Experience in WBS, Earned Value, and project-reporting metrics 4) Experience in design control and quality management system 5) PMI certification an asset 6) Experience in Microsoft Project 7) Ability to manage meetings effectively to achieve desired results 8) Strong self-starter and an effective team player 9) Good consensus-building skills 10) Excellent leadership skills 11) Superb facilitator with conflict resolution skills
12) Excellent communication skills in French and English (written and spoken) |
