About our client
Our client is a $150M privately held full-service contract manufacturer, which services the life science and medical device industry. They currently have over 20 locations throughout the United States.
Position Location
Senior Advanced Development Engineer Indiana
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experienceManagement
Responsibilities
1) Develop new generation ideas into innovative solutions that can be handed off to the product engineering teams
2) Work closely with customers, Research and Development, and Marketing Teams to develop new products
3) Evaluate new technologies for use in current and future products
4) Monitor project development schedules, track milestones and provide reports as needed
5) Conduct and document design review meetings with the appropriate teams
6) Develop and maintain design control documentation and electronic product file structures
7) Provide reports to meet GD, ISO and customer requirements (as needed)
8) Establish product-testing methods and evaluate product performance for new products
9) Perform statistical analysis on new product designs (as needed)
10) Supervise and/or lead product engineering teams to migrate the new product concepts into products that can be globally manufactured
11) Provide mentoring and sharing of ideas, concepts and product knowledge to others in the engineering teams to promote cross-functional knowledge (as needed)
12) Incorporate intellectual property opportunities as much as possible into marketable products
13) Research new technologies, customers’ products and competitive products within the markets participated (as needed)
14) Collaborate with customers, Research and Development and other engineering teams as needed
15) Perform other assignments as necessary
Requirements
1) BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
2) 8+ years of experience in product design engineering or equivalent expertise
3) 5+ years of experience in electro mechanical design engineering or equivalent expertise
4) Minimum 5 years of management experience with other engineering functions or departments
5) Experienced user of Pro-E and AutoDesk software modeling platforms, FEA and others a plus
6) Product engineering, manufacturing engineering or product development experience
7) Experience in supervising technical people
8) Experience in medical device preferred
9) Statistical analysis experience preferred
10) Expertise in developing new ideas and effectively plan out activities to increase revenue and meet business plans
11) Detailed understanding of the applicable agency/regulatory requirements for projects
12) Excellent leadership and communication (written and verbal) skills
13) Above average understanding of GD&T
14) Self-directed
15) Ability to successfully manage multiple major development projects
16) Willingness to travel – up to 15% (international)
