Production Operations Manager Los Angeles, California
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Vice President and General Manager
Responsibilities
1) Handle the company’s west coast manufacturing operation, including all aspects of compound, filling and packaging of a 60K+ sq. ft. facility
2) Manage planning and purchasing of raw materials, production planning, receiving and the raw materials warehouse
3) Meet the financial, operational (quality, cost, delivery and safety) and regulatory goals for site operations
4) Manage 6 Direct Reports as well as 100 hourly associates
5) Achieve service-level targets for key customers
6) Drive cost reduction through manufacturing and supply chain initiatives
7) Act as a member of the Management Team and work on the strategic planning process, with a primary focus on achieving the objectives set forth for the division
8) Develop, motivate and maintain a qualified, effective and efficient workforce
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) (MBA preferred)
2) Minimum 10 years of relevant and successful business experience, including at least 5 years in leading organizations in a pharmaceutical (or closely related) MRP-driven manufacturing environment
3) Experience in managing MRP/Master Production Schedule functions, purchasing functions, warehouse operations and distribution center operations
4) Experience in working on the production floor
5) Knowledge of cGMPs, industry best practices (including operational excellence principles), liquid filling technologies and business processes associated with pharmaceutical operations
6) Experience of working with multiple regulatory agencies such as FDA, OSHA, EPA, etc.
7) Sufficient knowledge of finance to evaluate business plans, contribute and analyze risk
8) Good understanding of operational finance
9) Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish)
10) Ability to dramatically improve/turnaround operation’s performance
11) Attitude of a team player working in an environment with a highly diverse workforce
12) Successful record of hiring, developing and inspiring staff
13) Ability to embrace the company’s values and excel within the company culture
14) Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
