About our client
Our client is a leader in molecular diagnosis that develops, manufactures, and markets proprietary DNA and RNA tests focused on women’s cancer and infectious diseases.
Position Location
Research and Development Manager Gaithersburg, Maryland
Salary
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
1) Lead, coordinate, and manage the design and development of new diagnostic assays or business processes
2) Supervise projects to complete deliverables on time and within budget
3) Perform advanced assessments of core areas and is expected to initiate, design, author, and execute complex activities and validations
4) Assess intellectual property issues and take the initiative in preparing patents competitive evaluations
5) Learn and follow all safety procedures
6) Write monthly reports, assessments, and other reports
7) Assure accurate and timely creation and appropriate maintenance of lab notebooks and project documentation
8) Lead project teams
Requirements
1) BA or BS degree with a minimum of 14 years of additional experience or a MS degree with a minimum of 10+ years of additional experience
2) Ph.D with 5+ years of additional experience in Biological or Chemical Sciences
3) Familiar with proper use and maintenance of common lab equipment
4) Excellent PC skills and knowledge of MS Office tools
5) Exceptional communication and analytical skills
6) Excellent decision making skills
7) Exposure to mental demands and other working conditions, such as cold/hot temperatures, exposure to chemicals and biohazardous, etc
